Bifröst, 2016

This body of work is a continuation of my little arrangements with the supernatural.

It is the result of a residency in Iceland, made possible thanks to the support of the Leenaards Foundation*.

I journeyed to this land seeking traces of religious syncretism, hidden people, Irish slaves and pagan cults.

Through a collection of photographs, wallpapers, scans, collages and sculptures, Bifröst—literally meaning “glittering bridge” in Norse mythology—revisits ancestral forms of imagination, beliefs and stories linked to this insular culture.

Somewhere between folklore and autobiography, between games of scales and simulacra, the series takes us to a place where legends meet the DIY spirit.
