Libre et sauvage, 2012
The Libre & sauvage series emerged from phantasmagoric mental images, nourished by references such as Emily Brontë’s writings, the paintings of Sir Joshua Reynolds, and Gustave Courbet.
Through a blend of studio photography, interventions, and documentary images, this body of work revisits the romantic fascination with an almighty nature.
The tension created by the interplay between interior and exterior, between constructed universes and reality, sometimes relegates nature to a decorative element, unveiling the duality inherent in this ideal of beauty.
